The old Heidi's in Aloha----was there for dinner about 3 nights a week back in the early 80's.

Can't remember the name of the place that was underground---under Safeway at 185th and TV hwy back in the day.

The Hunt and Fish in Beaverton. Could shoot pool 24/7 there. Plenty of time to get straight/sober after they quit serving beers at 2am.

Heidis - So you probably remember Dave the owner, big Francis who was the tavern kind of helper / handyman and Cheryl the day bartender.
Underground place - I cant remember the name either. I think at one point it was call the Speak Easy? Celeste was the lead bartender.
The Hunt & Fight - Joe Ringo's place. Used to sit in fake boats for seating. When intel first opened the grave yard crew would show up at 7am to drink and play pool. Spilt time between there & Montys on Canyon. They used to be two of the biggest Hamm's accounts on the west side.

This also brings back a couple memories that cant be unseen. Used to be a bar on the corner of 170th & TV Hwy called the Lariat. I had keys to the place so that I could deliver kegs early morning. Just left an invoice and wrote the check myself. So one morning I get there about 7am , unlock the door and go inside for my delivery. To my surprise I walk in and see a big biker and the night bartender have intimate relations on a pool table. I just went about my business and so did they. Always a little sketchy making that delivery after that.

The Dockside on front/naito. It's still there, I like how they literally built a condo around it, I wonder how much they developer offered them.
Owners are friends of mine and the offer to buy the property didn’t amount to the revenue the bar, restaurant, and poker machines were kicking out. They recently retired and passed it on to the kids.
Fun fact - The Dockside is where the whole Tanya Harding / Nancy Kerrigan saga came tumbling down. From their menu…….

Our real claim to fame was the finding of the Tonya Harding garbage that was to be the downfall of the Olympic Skater. On January 30, 1994, the owner, Kathy Peterson was emptying the garbage when she came upon several bags of trash that somebody had left in the dumpster. Upon examination of the garbage some very damaging evidence was found that led Tonya and her associates to be found guilty of the Nancy Kerrigan ā€œClubā€ incident. The most damaging paper that was found was an envelope with information concerning Nancy Kerrigan’s practice schedule at her home rink the Tony Kent Arena. The handwriting was found to be Tonya’s. She had earlier denied any involvement in the whole affair, but the garbage proved otherwise. To our knowledge, neither Tonya Harding nor any of her cohorts have ever visited the Dockside, we think they came upon the dumpster and thought they could save themselves a trip to the transfer station which is located about 5 miles from here. What a mistake that was! During those couple of weeks in January ’94 we gave 63 interviews to various newspapers, magazines and TV shows. Who would have ever thought that the Dockside would be in the middle of such a notorious scandal? We joke that we’re best known for our garbage, but we think our food is pretty darned good and we hope that you do to.

Glad their kids took it over!

Late 80's at the Oregon Museum Tavern or as we called it, OM's in Corvallis. Pints and quarts of Hamms and good competition at the pool tables. The Peacock was right next door with a little rougher crowd hanging out at the top of the cock.

Don't sound familiar. It was my hang out in the mid '80s. Hillside or Hill Top kinda rings a bell but that could have been a nick for it.

There was also a small pizza joint and bar just off Powell on 22nd (I think) called Mama Maria's. Best pizza in the US. Long closed now.
Mama Maria's had the best pizza ever. Wish it was still around

Here's a story for ya.

When we were dating, my ex had a place on 23rd just off Powell so we made it into Mama Maria's fairly often. I lived over on Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway fairly close in. The gal that did my hair had her shop on that side of town too, neat gal, great stylist (I had hair then) and quite the character. Well, my ex and I stopped in for a pizza one evening and there was my hairdresser with three of her friends that had a quartet. They did barber shop style harmonies. Well, when I introduced my then fiancee, the gals kicked off with their rendition of Sweet Adaline. Memory filled evening. Little events like that make live enjoyable.
