Both wild on side planar. Black sparkle miniature plug....sitting in my plug box ..taunting me....are you gonna use me or am I just gonna be prisoner of the plug box. I granted its wish and it sure delivered....just too many fins.
New things keep me interested. Now back to football...and food.
I’ve been trying out the side planer as well no luck yet

Its just a matter of time. I got 3 on it but all 3 wild. My goal was to put 5 steelhead on planar...would be kool if they were keeper but that darn adipose was there...still not bad...atleast caught fish. It's the most underlooked tool. Switch plugs...lately the miniature black sparkle is wreaming havoc. Bead guys were all ****ed...lookin at their age and the glance they gave me was precious 🤣.
In 30 minutes they start inching tiowards me. I warned them that 65# braid with 25# leader is mean to your flimsy bead set up. Best part is it works from a super small stream to big river. Kilchis park already donated few fish to it. An 8 inch pvc pipe wih a cap on end and 8 inch removable spike...don't even have to hold my rod in hand...when the planar trips...its a beauty to see the strike...rod doubles up and touch the water...strike is so vicious. Thats what gets me mostly..the savage strike.

Also sometimes you gotta cook alligator on grill (authentic louisiana gator) to lure em in 😁 It was delish.

@Gumbi
I live in Washington state, but friends keep telling me. That winter steelhead fishing in Oregon is way better…….
Seems like I was directed to this thread when I clicked on GoChrome’s “No winter steelhead thread?”…..

Gumbi - Do you want to rename this thread to “2023-2024 Official Winter Steelhead Thread”?

I might actually get interested in steelhead once upland season ends 😁

It appears that Gumbi has been banned sometime between starting this thread and now.

Also, see post #124. 😁
