Sea Lion Recipes

In anticipation of the issuance of sea lion tags, I believe we should all post our best sea lion recipes.

I'll begin

Salmon Head-Stuffed Sea Lion

Take one medium sized sea lion, clean (head and gut). Fill body cavity with all the salmon heads left over from sea lion attacks, and tie closed with dacron. Roast on a spit over fire, 3-4 hours, while watching, enjoying a beer, and grinning.

Bury next to your favorite tree (fence area to keep your dogs away).

How many times do I have to tell you, it's a sardine wrap, not a salmon head wrap. Did it work for you? You might start a trend... :grin:

I think Taylor's Viewpoint was the happy one as it was his and ended up hooking three fish on it Tuesday. A good running Fickle Pickle is like gold this time of the year you know.

We lost a fish to a sea lion yesterday. I did not even see the beast until it already had the fish, boy can they make your reel sing. We did get the plug and the Salmon head back. Thats three fish we have lost to the sea lion. While they are around the fishing is not very good either. Im very Frustrated with the stinking things :smash:..W.A.

Cut sealion into large (4 or 5 pounds) chunks
Boil for 1 hr to remove some fat
Cook like beef roast
Dip chunks of meat in uligan grease (rendered smelt)

It will end up tasting like a good beef roast marinated in sardine oil.

Maybe we need to open a 'dog shelter' for sea lions. Then it would be okay to euthanise them. Or maybe if we made them pets it would be okay to put them down.

Sea Lion La Cosa Nostra Style

1 large seal lion (the bigger the better)
1 5 gallon bucket filled with cement
20 feet of heavy duty chain

1. Render sea lion unconscious.
2. Wrap tightly with chain.
3. Attach bucket and marinate indefinitely at the bottom of the river.
WARNING...Do not reverse the order of steps 1 and 2 :grin:
