I was wondering if anyone will let me know the good and the bad aspects on a boat I am planning to buy. It has a chevy 305 V8 and would like to know what kind of winterizing this motor and boat needs. it is 24' long with toilet sink waste water and fresh water. Does anyone know anything about this boat?

A survey done isa must and make sure to get the best surveyer you can pm if you need a couple of numbers to the best in oregon. It will be the best money spent on the boat and most insurance companys will ask for one before they write the policy.Just a heads up the stringers in those boats almost always have some root.

I saw you putting back to the Camas launch dock last Thursday with your kicker. You said your main engine quit. What happened? My friend has a 25' Bayliner 2452 Ciera Express moored there. I love his boat except for the limited deck room for fishing. It has awesome creature comforts inside the cabin though!

Had a 2452 glad it is gone. was running a 350 chevy with a brovo 2 drive no problem with that, very limited fishing space(will u use it for that?)
that boat is top heavy and it rolls baddly side to side when trolling or at rest jigging. also the high cabin /top act a sail while trolling so in a mild wind hard to keep a straight line.

my parents had the 2252 which is the next size down. We went on MANY trips with it and it was flawless. It was a great boat. I did the winterizing on it and it was pretty easy though the drain bolts on the engine were a bit hard to get to. We cracked the manifold one year because we didnt winterize it in time.

The 305 is not enough power for me. We had one a few years ago, it was an OK boat. I did like the cabin, very comfortable. the boat was very rolly and did not handle well in following seas. VERY small cockpit area, tight for 4 fisherman. We did catch lots of salmon and had a great time in that boat. Be sure to have your survey include drilling a sample from the transom, to check for rot. All in all a good starter boat if it has been maintained before you get it.:twocents:
