Didn't want to hijack the other thread on the topic. But it prompted me to look at the harvest results from the last few years for these two units, something I've been wanting to see since the announcement of the season date changes last year. Obviously the accuracy of the data provided being self reported can be disputed, and the cause for the effect and change in harvest data debated. Comparing two years is hardly a trend, but the changes in rifle and archery harvest from 22 to 23 are kind of nuts.

I put some of the last few year data in a table.

Heck of a deal if we can't trust the numbers, I really wish OSP would work that issue a little more, but I don't know if it is really an issue either. A few big fines that nonsense would be gone.

It appears pushing the season dates back put the archers out of the rut?
I'm sure the data is largely accurate in terms of harvest, but also likely it's less accurate when it comes to number of hunters/days hunted/etc on the reports. Just something worth acknowledging. But from 22 to 23 it appears general rifle harvest nearly doubled, late archery nearly halved.
