Kubota's have good resale value. I'd call a local dealer and ask about valuation.

Do an internet search using the tractor brand and model. You'll find several sites listing similar tractors for sale. You'll be able to compare using year, hours, condition, etc. Sites include tractorhouse.com, machnerypete.com, equipmenttrader.com and so on ........

 

My younger brother (and best fishing/hunting buddy) has been in poor health for a number of years and is now dealing with stage 4 cancer. Many unrealized dreams are going to be left on the table including the projects he'd planned to use his tractor to accomplish. He's asked me to help him find a new home for his 2011 Kubota BX2360V that includes a loader and box scraper. The sad thing is that he's only been able to put 46 hours on the meter since he bought it. It's been stored under cover and just got a new battery. The first step is to help him put a value on it.

Any thoughts from you folks who know what a Kubota is? I am guessing it won't be long before there will be an ad in the classifieds with better pics.

Between $9,000 and $11,000 the problem with that size of tractor is it's size 23 hp it's going to sale to some one with 1 or 2 acres no more it's to small for any thing more than that

 

Like used cars there's a shortage on used tractors as well. It should bring good money. Don't let a dealer do you any different. Sorry to hear the reasons behind the need to sell

The local dealer here called me this last fall and offered to pay me more than I paid new for my 2020 BX1880 with 120 hours, inventory shortages are driving the used prices up and dealers can't get anything in. I'd think 14-15k if not a little more would be a fair estimate of its value. A new 2380 is like 20 grand with a loader

 

Equipmenttrader and machinerypete: worth around $9000-$9500. That is Kubota's Compact tractor: the smallest, bottom of the line sized tractor with a loader. Basically ride-on lawnmower sized. Pretty limited in what it can do, good for 1 acre type property. Should have gone for around $11K new (+ box scraper was probably around $600) so you could start off high (around $11K) and know you still did fine if you end up with $9000-$9500 IMO.

With the low hours and a shortage of tractors I would start at $10500.00. Note at 46 hours it is coming due for some of it's first services on fluids and filters. Than can run several hundred dollars.

This is essentially an "estate" tractor not a farm tractor. With the center mount mower it replaces the need for a riding mower and the bucket allows it to move quantities of dirt and other heavy stuff up to about 600 pounds. The back blade can grade small areas and dress up a gravel driveway. It will only handle a small brush hog mower, a 48" is probably the too bit in tall thick grass or brush. The rear output is only 17 hp.

 

Absolutely call your nearest two Kubota dealers. Their little BX machines are fantastic if used within their capacity. That 23 hp BX isn’t much less on PTO output than my (physically) larger B2650. It just can’t drag or lift as much…

My bet is it’s worth more than new in the current market. Tractors are just starting to become available at the dealers again, and prices are not down. Using any kind of value guide similar to KBB, NADA, or the like, will not give you an accurate current market value. Might say what a bank will loan, but nothing about what a fella will pay due to current market conditions. GLWS!!!

 

And for what it’s worth, the 50 hour Kubota service isn’t too bad. Engine oil and filter, but only filters on the hydro’s. $100-ish, and about 30 minutes of work. It’s easier than I thought…

That said, I’d do a hydraulic fluid replacement (typically at 200 hours) simply due to age. If it’s all original, it’s 10 years old! Use only the spec’d Super-UTD2 oil. Figure another $100 to do this while you’re in there.

$10,000 barely buys you an entry-level commercial grade mower today. It’s not even close to a SCUT!

You will probably see they want 30-35% commission
You would be lucky if they say 20-25% but in this market I don't see that happening

Get their quotes so You know where you are at.
Good luck with the sale...do it right and take your time.... no rush decision

Letting the dealer sell and take commission would be a huge waste. 25-35% waste as mentioned above. List the machine between 10-11k OBO on Facebook and CL and it will sell in less than a week. I sold an early ‘80’s 18 horse Kubota a few months ago with 1400 hours for $4500. I was bombarded with emails. Good luck with the sale.

 

Couple months ago sold a 2016 bx23s, the newer model, with loader, backhoe, box blade, 3 point, for $18,000 in about 3 days. Ritchie bros website can be a good spot to look up past auction prices for specific models.

Get him some THC oil online it'll help cure the cancer, I had stage 4 in my right lung after getting the oil and using it for about 2 months my MRI came back with 3 tumors gone and the 4th to small to measure, I was sceptical too but what did I have to lose , chemo wasn't doing anything but making me sicker, His tractor will sell quick everyone with land can use one of those.

It sure does been fighting mine for 4 years but I think I'm finally winning next fridays MRI should let me know, I hope it's all gone.

 

We are currently in NED (No Evidence of Disease) after a long hard winter. Cancer SUCKS. I hope for a miracle for your brother- it does happen. A friend was told she had months to live and to get her affairs in order- that was over 30 years ago. I second the notion of trying THC oil if other things aren’t working.

 

I have been thinking of getting a new tractor with more horsepower, I currently have a mid sized Kubota. I stopped in to look at new tractors at the local Kubota dealer. They told me that I could get what I paid for my tractor that is now 17 years old ($20,000). That is crazy but the same goes for pickups and boats.

 

I just bought a John Deere 1070 about 40 hp. Front end loader , box scraper with adjustable ripper teeth , 2700 hours . $8000.

 

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions and kind thoughts! If you've been laying awake at night wondering how this adventure was going, let me bring you up to date. I took the tractor to a Kubota dealership and had them check it out which included changing all the fluids and filters, new battery, fan belt, etc. Their commission for selling it on consignment would have been 15%. The sales rep knew of my brother's condition and suggested I should try to sell it myself and gave me a suggested price. Tonight I put ads on Craigslist and Facebook for what my brother paid for the tractor 11 years ago. Within 5 minutes, I had 3 inquiries and the first guy drove down from Portland with cash in his hand. Checked all the bills for legitimacy, helped him load it up and sent him on his way. He was delighted as the tractor was in better condition than he had hoped for. DONE DEAL. On behalf of my brother, Thanks a Million!
