hey all, i'll be staying in Wenatchee over the summer. I got an internship with the Bureau of Reclamation. My wife and girls are staying in Pullman, so i'd like some distractions so i dont just sit around missing them. Looking for info on good places to fish. From a quick search on here, seems like Fish Lake or Lake Wenatchee would be good places to visit right now. I'll add them to my list for the weekends.
I was more wondering if there were any fishing opportunities closer by, so maybe i can go after work. I thought i read something about the Rock Island ponds in my previous searches, but i cant find it now. AFAIK the Wenatchee river is closed, and i've read about some fishing possibly in the Columbia, and also where they meet. i think thats why confluence park is named that...Can i fish from the bank anywhere along there? or where is there bank access? Are there steelhead? chinook? any catfish? I'm pretty much a fishing noob, i'll fish for anything that will bite.
most of my rods are medium steelhead rods, I'm guessing i might want something heftier for chinook if i try for them?? And since i dont have a boat, i'm guessing the technique to use is plunking? thanks in advance for any info or tips u can provide and i apologize in advance if these are noob questions...
