Fishes in Peru

Hi all,
I received a request to post some photos of fish caught in the Amazon region of Peru. Here they are. There are some bizarre specimens among them. There must be thousands of other fish swimming here that I've never seen. For those who are interested, you can see how the locals fish here on my YouTube channel, FishingAdventuresPeru. I really love living here in the Amazon next to the second largest river of Peru, Rio Huallaga.Have a great day all!

Interesting. We only caught Red Beely Piranha and a catfish with really long Barbels When in Iquitos area.

In Iquitos (lower Amazon) there are much more fish species then here in the higher Amazon. Luckly here are only a few Red Bellies. In Iquitos there are so many. They eat the bait fast, so other fish dont have a change...

Cool fish. When I was in the Amazon I only had access to a short cane pole and caught small piranha and catfish. I would really liked to have gone after some of those amazing fish I saw in the fish markets there.

River Monsters ruined me. I've daydreamed about chasing monster catfish in the Amazon for over a decade now. That red tail would be a nice start.
