This is the anchor rope that Bob's sells and recommends. Is it possible to make an eye splice around a thimble in this rope? It's a "solid braid" rope, I know you can splice single or double braid but not sure about this stuff.

So poly floats and nylon sinks?BTW,
You don't want to use floating line such as poly for an anchor - makes it more likely to pull out of the bottom. You want something that will tend to lay as low and close to the bottom as possible, for the best angle of pull on the anchor. All chain or chain connected to nylon are the standard choices for anchor rodes.
Three strand is easy to splice to chain. Double braid can be eye-spliced, but it's a lot trickier and you have to have the right tools.
