I know river bank raw salmon is to be avoided by dogs, but what about smoked salmon skin ? My dog gives me the look when I am eating some.

Had a stubborn Lhasa Apso, Rusty, years ago who lived to break the rules. Had a big chief smoker full of about 25 kokanee cooling in my garage and got called out to an emergency repair. Racks were still very hot, but kokanee were gone. Watched "Rusty" limp around for several days before we treated his singed paws. I loved that dog, but there were times when I didn't like him.

Vet said ok with salmon but never raw. Its ok if the salmon has been frozen to -10 or lower for 7 days, but he still said its less risk if the fish is cooked. We have always let the dog have the grilled salmon skin from my wifes plate but no more as she found out it was like eating potato chips.
