I have caught Steelhead and Chinooks on them but never a Silver. Has anyone out there? I love fishing these lures and would like to try them this fall for Silvers if they work. :smash: :smash: :smash: Thanks for the input.

Cannot help with your question but I can tell you they hit casted jointed rapala's! Remember you have to change the hooks to single point barbless(siwash) work best. This is in the Ocean

We do not troll with them but cast tehm along with other lures/plugs/jigs and have a blast with them.

Do silvers hit kwikfish & flatfish??

You betcha! Not a "go to" lure? Surely you are kidding!

I have caught them with K13's to K16's . My personal recommendation would be K13 or K15... the K14's are downright sqirrelly to tune, and the K16's are just too big for general purpose use for coho, unless of course you are fishing a run noted for 20# plus fish.

Thanks Slab. Eyefish I know you've caught many a salmon. Would you say kwikfish are all season lure. I've seen many peoople shy away from them as the water heats up but I believe they hit them out of anger not for feed and therefore they work at all times. Would you agree? Just thought I'd take this post in a little different direction.

DISCLAIMER: I don't work for Luhr Jensen... and no, I am not Buzz Ramsey's secret lover... BUT

I can say without hesitation that if there is a biting salmon in the river, you can virtually guarantee it will hit a Kwikfish... by far the single-best river salmon fishing lure EVER invented.

It's reputation was built on chinook, but I can tell you that silvers, chums, and pinks hammer them with the same vicious, rod-flattening abandon as kings, either backtrolled or fished on anchor, and yes, all season long!. I have even caught sockeye on them, but that's about as likely as tempting a king hunkered down in a deep hole with a #14 dry fly. BTW, sockeye in Lake Washington were routinely caught on a small red Flatfish before the bare hook craze started 10 or more years ago.
