Nisqually delta area south of tacoma, would also tihink some of the mud flats in the Evert area should have some. have also dug them at ocean shores mud flats and used them real fresh.

 

As an alternative to live sand shrimp, I have read and saw video/pictures that people have caught sea perches, and other bay fishes with Gulp Alive sand shrimp, sand worm, and other kind of artificial Gulp Alive baits.

 

if you are just going to use them for surf perch bait, save some time and effort and just go to the grocery store. Buy the cheapest frozen shrimp you can find. Usually about $2-4 bucks a pound. They'll hold better on the hook than sand shrimp and are equally if not more effective.

 

Thanks for the suggestions. This will be my second time fishing for surf perch. I caught one last time on sand shrimp. After researching this site, I have learned lots of good info and will be bringing a variety of artificial and real bait just to try out. However, I would still like to get the full experience of finding sand shrimp...and mole crab...and pile worms...
