Might be a simple as living and lifestyle in Columbus Ohio vs that in Las Vegas.
Not a hard choice.
Could be that simple. Typically when coaches are serious about winning, they don’t go to coach for questionable teams. I just don’t see them as a destination that a coach would want to go to. I get the money end of it though too and I think that’s usually the driving force.

How many years does Pete have in him? If they have any kind of success, when Pete retires, who's in a prime position to replace him?!
True. They need to get some more talent if they want to be successful. Things are definitely changing with Brady being involved there. And when Brady played for the Pats, Belichick did pick Chips brain about offensive schemes. Could be a great move. Time will tell. Unfortunately for nfl coaches, time runs out fast if you’re not winning.

An NFL head coach is more like an adminnistrator and rah rah role, offensive and defensive coordinator’s develop the team strategy and the position coaches actually coach the players.

His net worth is upwards of $20 million. He's 61 years old. I'd retire while I was still young enough to do stuff. You can't take it with you.

I'm sure he lives a good life but I personally wouldn't want to spend it on the sidelines at a football stadium for much of the year. But if that's what he wants to do it's his choice. I personally can think of better ways to spend my golden years. But I'm not a football fanatic like him and it's probably hard to leave what's been your life for so many years.
Nah.
Chip is a lifer.
When he can't walk the sidelines anymore, he'll be up in the booth, sitting down and calling plays.

The Raiders have the 6th pick in the upcoming draft.

Again to the NFL?

Why don't these guys just retire?
I think he wants (desperately) to prove he can be successful at the NFL level (particularly after his utter failure in San Freakcisco). Then there's that little detail of $6M per year as the highest paid coordinator in the league.

I, personally, think he's a pretty good coach, but, if nothing else, the guy definitely knows how to "strike when the iron's hot"

You're probably right. And he does look kind of like John Madden.

Another reason to leave Ohio State and move to the Raiders is you don’t have to screw around spending half the years out recruiting high school kids.

Hope Mariota goes somewhere , he is being wasted at Wash.
Its of my opinion that he has not been a waste at Washington.
I think a lot of Jayden's growth in his rookie year, was because Marcus was in the locker room.

Marcus signed a 1 year deal with Washington March 24'.
He has not been resigned as of yet.

I can see the raiders finding a veteran QB in free agency.
Marcus would be a good fit as he has some knowledge in Chip Kelly's offense and is levelheaded/well liked.

Raiders do not have a quality back up QB. Especially one to nurture a rookie that we may get in the draft.
Its highly possible the Raiders pick a QB at #6 and that may just be Will Howard.
I think T. Brady will bring some stability to the Raiders.

Just pondering the possibility's.........

BTW
Joe Woods is joining Pete Carroll’s staff as defensive pass-game coordinator
Good D coach hire imo

A couple seasons and believe Chip is his succession?
Chip as OC will make more $ than some NFL head coaches presently.

Looks like they really are trying to rebuild the team from the top down......Literally
Brady, Pete (Defense mind), and Chip is pretty creative.
