one year my uncle bought everyone in deer camp extra large cots from costco. they were exactly like the cabelas. he gave his away so took ours back over the next few years. it would take a lot of abuse to wear one out. i still use korean war vietnam era military cots

 

I've had a Roll-a-cot for 25+ years and love it. Great if you're packing in. I also have the Cabela's cot. Both are great, but the Cabela's wins because those black and yellow totes fit underneath saving me a bunch of space in the wall tent.

 

Good call on the cot. Not a big deal when Im sleeping outside or in my summer tent, but a huge deal in the wall tent!

 

Not sure if it's the same as the cabelas one but we use the teton outfitter XXL cot. No sag that I have noticed and I bought ours used. We do use pads on ours.

 

Rollacot. No question. They are local to the NW and they make great products.We have a bunch of them and they are awesome. I even have one that I ordered from the factory that I can slide a pad in between the fabric so it stays in place....
Their tables are awesome too!

 

The Roll-A-Cot is probably going to be more expensive that your average, folding cross-bar cot and that might put some people off.
Once you try one, you can't go back to a conventional cot.
I can't see ever wearing one out....buy once, cry once.

 

If I remember right, I paid $60 back in the day. Also have two tables.

 

Been using the Roll-A-Cot for years. Love it.
The key features for me was the fact it fits in the back of a Tacoma 6ft bed perfectly,
AND its 4 post design does NOT interfere w/ the wheel wells.

 

I didn't really notice till this year my cabelas cot sagging really bad, almost unbearable. I thought I was just getting older and no way a cot could sag but reading this i now know I'm not alone. Might upgrade this year. I too really like being able to store stuff underneath my cot. Might have to check out the Teton

 

The Teton and Rollacot appear similar in cost. I might go with the Rollacot for a change.

The last 2 years the sag has got worse. Last fall over salmon fishing I about tossed it in the dumpster!

Resorted to truck bed over east on a foam pad while hanging with buddies over deer.

I got my moneys worth out of the Cabelas, but time to move on.

 

The Texsport king cot is a good one. Easier set up than a roll a cot. Either way add a Therm-a-Rest pad on top for the best in camp comfort.

 

You say you got your money's worth out of your current cot but want to move on. That seems like a mistake.

If you divide the price by the number of nights, it's probably worth the price per night.

 

I've had both styles for a lot of years, the heavier cabela's type xl or xxl (?) was always more comfortable. I always used a pad with either one for warmth but it was always firmer than the rollacot. Rollacot is a lot lighter but smaller too, at least the one i had.

 

we use the Cabela's bunk bed cots. they are supper comfy and if you need to you can use them as bunk beds to save room in the tent. or use one of the cots as storage.

 

Are the roll a cots the same ones Davis tent sells?

 

This thread make me think I may be in the market for a new cot. I think mine is considered an antique by now. It has to be ww2 era wood legs, canvas and rope.

 

Haven’t used the cabelas cots, but our roll-a-cots are over 12 years old and function as new with frequent use and abuse

 

We use a version of the XL that we got from Bi-Mart. For comfort we just throw inflatable air mattresses on top. Twin size fits good, and it's more comfortable then the thinner pads.
