I have been using a High Vis. Line for the last few years for my extra rods for those who fish with me that are new to the river. ( It helps me keep an eye on there bait movement and line reaction). Anyways I have used a few differant types of line but have found myself getting ready to respool and the only thing I have in high vis. is fireline....Anyone ever cast this line is it smooth or like casting tuffline.....I have never used this line for baitcasting but would be willing to try it if it cast smooth...anyone with any input on fireline and I'ts baitcasting abilities would be appreciated...I have seen people trolling with it but never casting it? thanks for the help I-Fisherman and good luck....

I have used fireline on my baitcaster, in my opinion they are not very compatible. I have recently removed it to put mono on, the fireline will go on a spool for my spinning reel. The line floats very well and should work for bobber/jig fishing.

The fireline has what I call instant memory, it will hold almost any shape that you give to it. This memory is what gave me fits on my baitcaster, when I first started fishing each time it would give some large birdsnests, after it had been cast a few times and stretched out it would be much better.

Just my opinion

My two cents,
I got some 'Tuff Line Plus' in a clearance bin 5 years ago and I put it on a Garcia 5000c for plugs only. 2 years ago I put it on my Curado for drift fishing and spinner fishing and it is still on the spool! I fish alot, too! There is no stretch and hook sets are almost automatic! You can feel the difference between fish and the bottom like not possible with mono.
Tie an 8 foot mono leader to the end, though, you don't want it near the fish.
I turned my friend Brian on to it and he says it's almost not fair to the fish! We are both hooked.

Maxima makes a bright pink line that I use on my plug rod and a friend of mine(guide) uses it on all of his plug rods because its easy to see.I don't use it on my casting rods I just use maxima.I don't see why it wouldn't work tho
it seems to disappear in water ??? I'd still use max ultra green for my leader tho.The only store I've found it in was fisherman's.Just a thought might be good for a new person just learning.
