Too bad, one of the best sushi places in the state is Mame on Blare Street, not fancy by any means but high quality food for a fair price. They have a variety of non sushi choices too.

 

Excelsior is nice. Marche is trendy. Oregon Electric Station has good prime rib.

Good selection here, I would also recommend Bepe and Gianni's.

Avoid Café Soriah if anyone suggests it.

I like the Empire Buffet. A good Chinese Buffet with a large variety and high quality. They are by the new Basketball Arena. Franklin I believe.

 

Not far away is the House Of Chen, very good food, nice place too!

 

When the wife and I wan to spoil ourselves we do either Bepe and Gianni's (also try their new pizzeria for lunch) , The Electric Station, or Bates Steak House.

We were at Bates last month and I had a Rib Eye stuffed with shrimp and then rolled up and wrapped with Bacon cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce drizzled over it. If I would've been alone I would've ordered a second one to go, but the wife stopped me


We're both beer drinkers so we also enjoy the breweries around town, their not as fancy but sometimes that feels more comfortable. We like the Steelhead Brewery and Plank Town in Springfield. Both have good beer with a bit more then the normal brewery food

 

The only things worth saving in Eugene are Cabelas and the "Sweet Basil Thai" restaurant. Its not expensive at all but holy smokes the food is incredible. I highly recommend.

I wish they would bull doze Cabelas and put in a good sporting goods store. Went there once and have never been back.

 

I agree with Beppe' and Gianni's best Italian in the area. I would add to the mix, Cafe 440 just North of Oakway Center. They make great meals, and their Mac n' Cheese with Pulled Pork is AWESOME!!!

Cabella's is a joke...

 

Gotta be chefs kitchen. Menu changes weekly can be found online. Good mix of seafood and meat like fillet mignonette, duck etc. the chef makes the sauces only, they are ridiculous. Salmon with crab in a mushroom sauce is one of my favs.

 

I also have to agree with Beppe & Gianni's. Of course I am a bit partial since my nephew works there. Even if he didn't work there I would eat there; good food.

 

Ambrosia is good also, usually a while to get in but well worth the wait :twocents:
