Thanks, different units but defiantly similar terrain. I love being able to glass for critters.

Drew a special tag in the 25% pool. Didn’t have time to preseason scout. So the first 4 days I spent driving around the unit. Found elk pretty much everyday besides one. Passed a few nice bulls in bow range. On the 7th day, I let one fly! What an experience.

The guy drew a 'special tag' which implies one of the 'big 3'. Is it really doing to do anything significant to the already horrific draw odds if he gives out the unit?

Or we can just not post units on an open forum?? To people that do, go for it, it's their choice. But for a new member to automatically ask "what unit" just doesn't sit well with some.

I had a great elk hunt this year with my wife and sons. My wife's birthday is always a great time of year and this one was no different. Got this Bull screaming and he was coming in hot, wife stopped him with some cow calls and I was able to make it happen. I Flat out couldn't have got him out without my oldest son's help. That kid is a mule !! I had head and cape and he had a rear a front and some other meat as well as his crap. Wife packed backstraps and neck meat and my bow Another friend helped and packed a rear and some other misc meat. 1 trip out !! It was hell but only once

That I do !! Wife usually asks should I grab the "hootchie" depending on the hunt and current situation I don't want the errant cow call to spoil something so allot of times I say no luckily this time I said ya grab it and she clipped it to her hip and when my mouth mew wouldn't suffice she knew exactly what to do.
