Well someone has to do it :ROFLMAO: And judging by the amount of tuna I saw at the dock in Newport yesterday, it's time to start this. With my little boat and my experience level I probably won't be adding much to this. So let's roll boys and girls!

I honestly do think a lot of you guys over shoot a lot of tuna. I know since I've started this tuna thing, a lot of you are way further west than what I fish, and I catch tuna. I have no doubt that a lot of us in smaller boats, can have really good tuna trips. I still know a lot of you are the real deal tuna gurus and I love your insight!

Satfish has a reasonable view and I have been mentally tracking it over the last two weeks.

Temp is great, even up at the Corners 45/125.

Chloro is best on the 125 line and a bit West. From 44.33 and South looks good.

Best bet right now from what I can see is still a bit South of Newport.

We fished Saturday 7/26 in the area SW of Hydrate Ridge (317 spot) in and around 44°43.363'N / 125°15.793'W. We arrived at 7:30 am and had 25 on board by 10:45 am.

The high performers were Mexican Flag and pink. The grade was good with a few pigs in the mix.

Water temp on arrival was just over 60 degrees. I think we over ran the fish by at least a few miles. Sonar showed lots of fish in the top 20 feet of the water column. We left fish when we had more than our goal.

Go get em!

I planned on 44.47 124.04 so this is spot on for what I was cpu ting on. We should have a killer day! Thanks for the report! Nice to see my brain is on track with the tuners!

We found a steady bite yesterday at 22 over 8. Ended up plugged with about 30 big. Called out on the radio when the bite picked back up, and naturally the bit died when someone showed up. It was 58 degrees when we started and ended up at 63.5. The warm water moved into 124.40 as we were heading back in. Lots of life just past 124.40 as your heading out.
Good luck to all!!!

A day late in the report but been cleaning fish and the boat. Fished the 38 over 06 area Saturday and got 27 tuna. Could have definitely got more but for the two of us that was plenty of fish to clean and we ran out of ice. Just kept running circles over a 1/2 mile area and never left it and consistently picked up fish. A lot of doubles and triples and even a quad that was a rodeo for two people. Consistently pulled up fish with iron as well after the hook up and leaving one fish always on the hang. Fun seeing them darting around under the other fish we had hanging. Really fun day on the water with 61 degree water when we started and 64 by the time we left.

We ended up running to the 317 spot instead of our original plan to run south. Dropped in at the 40/00 and immediately hooked up a triple. Landed two of those then scratched out a few more and lost a few more. At 9 o’clock things went dead for about an hour and a half. We pushed out to the 40/10 or so. Fish came in spurts with gaps between action but we ended with 23. Hit a little of everything. Mexican flag clones, cedar plugs, pink clone, and got two on jigs just tossing them while we were dealing with fish on the deck. Ocean was amazing!!! Quit fishing at 3

Lots of boats out today. I crossed the 125 down around 44.33, went as far out as 125.11 then north to 44.42 and back in. Scratch fishing. Singles, few doubles. Half came from trolling by small groups of surface feeders. One fish from many circle back attempts. They seemed to drop and disappear. Water as high as 67 deg in to 42/50 coming in. zuchini, red/white, and cedar plug all produced. 18 in the box when we called it at 3:00

pretty happy with our day. Two rookies 6 lines, 25 fish and even got a 5 way hook up and landed 3 of the 5. Took us a bit to find our system but once we started boat flipping we never lost another fish. Lost 4 to hectic gaff attempts. I can’t wait to dial the boat in with a. Full crew. Gonna be an awesome season. This is one for the story book for us. We felt accomplished.

We managed to grind out 17 west of Hydrate/317/1902 as far west as 125.20. Probably should have stayed inside the 125 line and ignored the 3 a.m. alarm clock. It sounds like the bite picked up between Hydrate and Nelsons later in the afternoon. Fish were decent but saw no fishable jumpers so most of the fish were caught trolling blue/green swim baits and green/yellow cedar plugs on the hand lines. Incredible number of whales out there, including some giants.
