It looked pretty crowded on the bay(I was looking from the comfort of a coffee shop on the bayfront) ... or am I just seeing things?

It seemed like there are a lot more sailboats and seals then there used to be, it did not seem like there were very many crabbers or fishermen.

Depends on the day. I really enjoy Yaquina as there is plenty of room for anyone\everyone. It is my favorite bay, any time!!!

This last weekend was the Yaquina Bay Yacht Club's Columbus Day Regatta. They also have a regatta that closely co-incides with Newport's Loyalty Days celebration in early May. Lots of racing and other activities. I used to be very active in days gone by but now spend more time fishin'. The club also have races Wednesday evenings through much of the year.

Fishing was 'good' in the upper reaches of the bay and lower tidewater of the Yaquina on Saturday. We saw a couple of boats that had doubles at the high slack change.
