What is your go to for waterproof quick disconnects? I need to wire in the lights on my whodat tower but there are times I need to remove the tower completely. I'm skeptical of the fly by night Chinese stuff on Amazon.

So you want a waterproof spade connector? I would try these off Amazon. Worse case it will blow your fuse and you try something different. >10k reviews looks pretty good to me. Add some heat shrink to the wire/plastic interface.

I have something similar under my dash for my fish finder and I-pilot compass wires. Lasts years without issue.

Yes, but I was trying to waste money on something fancy and overengineered.

I would recommend a Delphi or Deutsch style connector that is weatherproof rated.

Examples:

2nd the Deutsch connectors, have them all throughout a car build I did a few years ago, and have used them for my boat's dashboard. They're weathertight on the wiring side as well as the connection side and the come apart easily. Comes in various sizes depending on how many wires you have.

You will need the Deutsch crimper to make up a correct connector.

Use deutch connectors. Rugged, reliable, and waterproof. Order from Digikey.com and they aren't super expensive. Or, show up at next weeks Tualatin chapter CCA meeting and ask me for some. I always have a collection in my truck. Just let me know you are coming.
