I only hear about people targeting Kokanee in the spring/summer. I know they go through a period where they spawn and the quality of meat goes down hill and most people stop fishing them until next spring.

My question is: Does anyone do good on the Kokanee in the late fall/winter at Green Peter?

If so any suggestions for fishing that time of year?

Thanks in advance.

Grits:

There's a guy out of Madras that fishes Lake Billy Chinook in January. He fishes the Crooked River Arm and generally jigs. I think the fish are a little small then, 9" or so. I generally fish it in April, the fish are a little bigger then,10" to 12", just right for smoking.
