Can someone explain what the difference is between NW and SW surf forecast is on the data page

I'm trying to read the forecast for Sunday and Monday in T-bay... seems like Monday will be high winds and serious swells????
Good day to surf but not for day on the bay with a boat, yea??? Bottom line Im looking for some bay fishing Sun/Mon. anyone any thoughts????
