Can't say I've heard anything but it won't be too long. A good dry spell with some warm water and they'll be around. Usually not until the start of May really.

I was in three stores in Roseburg today....... no one has reported any shad being caught yet.

We really need the water to drop a bit.

Any day now.......

Where is a good spot for a bankbound flyfisher to get into shad? I will be in the Umpqua area on April 30th.

The Yellow Creek area just below Tyee bridge is a good spot with good access. Head downriver from Sutherlin and it is only a few miles.

I have been on the river a lot and haven't heard of any shad yet. Generally if the water is down the prime time is mothers day till fathers day. Of couse there are some on either side of that too. The springers are here though! I'll post up when I start hearing shad stories.-lem
