Time for new shoes on the Tundra, replacing a set of Toyo A/Ts. As mentioned on other tire threads, i’ve kinda moved on from Schwab since they’re really not the same company anymore, so been eyeballing the BFGs now instead. Of course all the current marketing is about the KO3s replacing the KO2s, but I’m sure we can all think of cases where ‘New & improved!’ was actually a step back. So the question is whether anyone has any first-hand experience w/ the new KO3s yet? (Bonus points if you’re comparing them to having KO2s before, but still interested in whatever else you’re comparing against.)

I’ve been running BFG AT’s on my Tundra since I bought it new in ‘06. Had the factory tires taken off ASAP…

I’ll have to go look if mine are K03’s… they are the new design with the tuff looking sidewalls but maybe they changed them yet again? I put these on last summer.

Anyway- I can wholeheartedly recommend BFG AT’s. I’ve gotten crazy miles from sets of them and never had one go out of round or balance. Just a great product IME. Never had a blowout. Very good in packed snow. Not great in mud. I do use the heavier duty version with more plies because why not.

My last set of tires, I ordered at Walmart.com and had them shipped free to the store of my choosing.
Picked them up at Walmart and had Toyota do the mount and balance.
Those gymnastics saved me some good coin.

Walmart has a good selection of name brand tires.
If you don't see your tire in the list, force a search for that tire and it may pop up.
They will often list special deals on sets.

I've had mine for a year now (KO'3's) on my Chevy Duramax 1 ton and they are as perfect as the day I got them. I've had them to eastern oregon/Washington on a few trips and over the coast range a 100 times. Probably have around 6k miles on them and it looks like they have zero wear. They handed the hunting trips off road really well as well as towing my 3800lb cab over camper and 22' Arima flawlessly.

With that said I am coming from having MT's my whole life so having these feel like a smooth dream on the road lol. I will buy another pair.

I've been researching tires for a year now trying to figure out what the next set will be...i've read too many poor reviews of the KO series especially when up against the Falken AT3/4. I have owned the Falken AT3 and they were the best tire I have had....I'll most likely go to Schwabs, as others have stated, they are everywhere etc...they're wanting me to go with the R/T Trail for $2K even when I mentioned I wanted the Falken AT4W lol.

I currently have 50psi in my rears for my RAM 2500...going to haul a 2 door UTV tomorrow East. Shouldn't have a problem...the smart fellas at the mechanic shop didn't lower the pressure when they rotated...so I have 65 fronts...neat.
