Hey Gang, I did a search and didn’t yield much. I have some good looking store bought eggs, but they aren’t too sturdy, pretty wet.

im no egg expert, but we’ve got a few silvers floating these eggs last week, so I’m trying to figure out how to toughen these things up so they will make it a few more casts without completely milking out.

any recommendations?

thank you for any advice!

Borax. Put them on a rack or paper towels to dry out. Be careful or you will ruin them. We are constantly changing bait out and not trying to get a “few” more casts out of them. In Bobber fishing you need good bait and the right depth to be in the zone. Buy fresh eggs and cure your own and problem solved.;)🇺🇸

I like to air dry my own cured eggs past the point where most people would. Cut unto bait size and put in some plastic mesh over a newspaper to drip on overnight. They get real firm and then soften back up in the bag/fridge. I do it with store bought eggs too, when I have to resort to them.

Borax works too
