Borax. Put them on a rack or paper towels to dry out. Be careful or you will ruin them. We are constantly changing bait out and not trying to get a “few” more casts out of them. In Bobber fishing you need good bait and the right depth to be in the zone. Buy fresh eggs and cure your own and problem solved.🇺🇸

 

I know I should cure my own, that’s the next progression.

I’ll do a test on the borax and see how I end up.

Light Slamolla and a fan

 

Borax is your friend. Night before I head out I pour some on the top of the skein the flip over and pour more on the top part of the eggs I just flipped.

 

Save excess juice for re-hydration if need too. But, the Borax will work to firm them up. Doesn't take much.

 

I like to air dry my own cured eggs past the point where most people would. Cut unto bait size and put in some plastic mesh over a newspaper to drip on overnight. They get real firm and then soften back up in the bag/fridge. I do it with store bought eggs too, when I have to resort to them.

when my jars are to wet i use paper towels to help dry and soak up extra liquids. some times it takes one or two days in the fridge. some times i fish them before the are perfect.
