Another day of 3 rods 7hrs nadda. Spinners , **** shrimp and stuffer baits. Not a fan of the wind. Wasn’t so bad to pack it up and leave just annoying. Giving it another shot tomorrow. Good luck 😉🥃🇺🇸

1/1 last evening. My 12 year old strikes again with his lucky spinner. It was our last opportunity to get on the water before the upcoming 9/7 closure below WR.

I am still baffled by the run this year. Been out 4 times between 8/30 to 9/4. Not once were we ever marking "lots" of fish on the finder. Ones and twos here and there, with the rare occasion with maybe 3 fish on the finder. Majority of the time the finder is blank. This time of year, finder should be blowing up with fish. In years past, it wouldn't be uncommon to have 20-30 on the screen at a time.

 

My guess is there will be another push of fish here, one of these days. But only kinda hanging around 10k fish a day right now, and got close to 20k last week.

I fished three days last weekend and every day had those full screen experiences, but the fish do seem to be traveling in a tighter lane and there are certainly less of them. Interestingly, most of the times the screen was full I wouldn't get a bite and then maybe 30 seconds later something would grab it. I imagine them dropping back or off to the side and coming back to bite. I had a lot better luck getting single fish or one of a pair to bite.

2/2...started above the bridge, but didnt like the wind/weed situation. Ran down to Weyerhaeuser and got 2 fish in 10 minutes.

 

Heard it’s very good at mouth of cow today

 

Mouth of the cow was electric today. Got a bright oily worm bag.

Am I getting very unlucky with these things or am I just being more observant lately? I can't believe the quality of the meat, worms aside.

Started at 6:45 am above the bridge. Had 2 takedowns that didn't stick before landing a nice chrome URB at 7:30. Missed another takedown and then released a wild tule at 8:00. A third takedown that didn't want the hooks, then at 8:30 we put our second keeper in the boat and were done.

1 hour 45 minutes, 6 takedowns, 3 hooked & landed, 2 nice keepers. Saw probably 15-20 others caught in our hog line and the one above us during that time.

One of the best wobbler bites I remember in a long time.

 

Wobblers below mouth of Cowlitz were awesome today. We had 8 or 9 takedowns, 5 hooked, 3 landed. Parking lot at Ranier was half empty when we got there about 10:30. Boats already limited and people gone home. Go get 'em tomorrow!

 

What length leader and dropper are you using? I usually troll but thinking about switching it up.

 

Decisions decisions... Get there at 04:30 or get there at 10:00... Today, didn't get the spot we wanted. Every spot we tried had fish above us, below us, beside us... The "damn" count was building. Got on the spot after three boats tagged out and left.

Got two right away the nothing for 20 minutes. "We should do a weed check". Cleared weeds, missed two, got Casper and got out of there in about 15 minutes

The basic rule is 5' on each, but I don't think it much matters.

 

Get there at 4:30 or 5. Merganser99 meant that when we left at 10:30, the parking lot had plenty of room. Ran the basic 5x5 setup for wobbler fishing.

 

I went 3/4 today, all chinook. Solo.

21 lbs. URB + (est. 12 lb. URB & 9 lb Tule).

Fished sat 6th, 5 rods 2 jacks and 4 adults. Fished 615-4pm lost many fish, had a great time

 

Mouth of cowlitz

 

2/2 yesterday with one rod. Both dark fish released. Second one was a real nice 20ish lb wild. Fish are finally biting as they should. Plenty on the sonar as well. Go get them.

 

We had four rods yesterday but weren't able to continue Friday's rate. Got one takedown, but it ended up being a dandy 23 lb'er.

Hoping we get an reopener next weekend. 🙏

 

Had the same bait tuna stuffers and 3.5 spinners. 9hrs 3 rods 3 take downs woo hoo. One broke off two spit. Were getting closer😂😂😂
