Okay the other day I get down to the locked rv storage and found some body had tried to steal my trolling motor. Some body had tried to use bolt cutters on the screws holding the motor on. After several days I came up with idea of using a piece of stainless tubing the was left over.
You can drive the pins out of the handles and slip the tubes over the threads. Use new drift pins to put back together. The tubes with turn if the try to saw them off.

Good Idea!
I'm going to do the same!
I also use the holes in mount and thru bolt to trolling mount, and the saftey cable adds some additional security also

You can buy a Merc lock that covers the screw right out of the box. Any merc dealer/shop will have them.
