Well, in that case, lets put together a measure to require education, and proven proficiency to get a permit in order to exercise your rights under the First Amendment. And you only get 10 words, so make them good ones.
I mentioned this a few weeks back in a thread but it didn’t go over well with some people, go figure. Most likely the same who voted yes on 114.

Freedom of speech and religion have been the catalysts for more human destruction than anything throughout history. Seems to me a permit to practice those would eliminate a lot of problems in our social media “disinformation” world. I think it’s a great idea.

She also seemed to side with the police and military have an "tactical advantage" of having higher magazine capacity, but doesn't not offer that advantage as necessary to the average citizen, interesting concept, but I would like to see her argue that point in front of SCOTUS in relationship to a person in the fight of their life and you have limited their tactical advantage. I think we were expecting too much of this judge.
I wasn’t expecting anything different. I’m well aware of what state we live in and how little the constitution matters these days to many who live in this state/country.

This statement is rich. CA, IL, NY are permit to purchase states. Dangerous as hell. How many killings in Chicago last weekend? Stop with the emotions AG and show some real data.

Emotion is all they have, it’s all they ever have. How often do you hear on msm about concealed carry defending themselves, stopping a crime, etc? Hell, how often do you hear on msm about the weekly killings in Chicago?

I like Colion and thought this fit what you’re saying

114 is a feeble law voted on by people that are not good Americans.
While I agree with your statement I also think a vast majority know nothing about guns so they go with what they are told, which we all know is mostly anti-gun. Case in point, check this out from The NY Times today:

NY Times ridiculed for using shotgun shell photo to promote article attacking AR-15s: ‘This is hysterical’

It also seems hypocritical to release an arms dealer back into society and leave 7 billion in military equipment for a bunch of terrorists to use, but what do I know.

Next thing you know, after they pull this stunt, they'll tell us we can't use semi automatics for bird hunting too. Give them an inch, and eventually they will take away it all.
I believe if you look at their plans for 2024 their next bill is to ban all semi-automatics, at least that's what I thought someone posted.

So you are telling me if you don't mind being inconvenienced for a day at most, you can be a felon and not follow any laws. Seems like that is not the worst trade off.

Don’t worry though, once 114 is implemented all those criminals will start following the law and gun violence will suddenly cease to exist.

So the Sheriffs basically all caved. Thats my interpretation.
$60 for their training, and who is going to do the in person handling for $5, as this permit was supposed to be $65?

I have no plans for getting a permit, and I think those that do are foolish to do so before the courts sort this out.
I won’t have a choice unfortunately. My rifle build will be done in February, after a 13 month wait. I’ll have to do what needs to be done to get this rifle, even though I’ll be ****ed about it.

If you own a semi-automatic rifle, Lift Every Voice of Oregon wants to collect it. If you want to talk to a group that would like to see all of them removed from the public at large, give the group a call. See what their thoughts, motivations are, as well as their mission. I scoffed at their ability to get this heinous bill on the ballot, but I was wrong.

Please save the guardrail and fear idioms. We’re talking about tangible groups of people, apparently a majority by vote, that are interested, as evidenced by the recent election, in thwarting your constitutional rights and mine. Take it lightly. Or don’t. But don’t belittle those who see it that way by claiming it’s all a boogie man melodrama or by pretending the fight isn’t real. If control over your life and rights isn’t of interest to you, then so be it.

On another note, are these groups, like LEV, out there lobbying for greater district attorney budgets? So the key for the guy with the 19th felony mentioned earlier can be lost forever after being prosecuted? No. They don’t care about the crime nor the prosecution. Focus on the problems. Further restrictions, laws and hurdles for legal firearm ownership won’t do a darn thing but infringe on constitutional rights.
Well said! All you ever hear from groups like LEV is gun control. Do they ever talk about tougher sentences and upholding the laws already on the books? Are they onboard with putting more money into law enforcement? I don't see any of that their website?

Ive been checking in on LEVOs IP18 on their site on a regular basis to see what they are saying. It seems to me and if my memory is correct, it used to read "semi auto" from when I started reading it around voting time, to "semi auto assault" as it currently reads.

Got to keep an eye on them!
The wording may change but the goal is still the same.
