What does this judge's opinion on mass shootings have to do with what is written in law (2nd and 14th amendments) and case law precedents? I don't get it. Supreme court here we come. 9th district is the worst district and commonly overruled at supreme court level.

“In light of the evidence of the rise in mass-shooting incidents and the connection between mass-shooting incidents and large-capacity magazines — and absent evidence to the contrary regarding the role of large-capacity magazines for self-defense — Defendants are comparably justified in regulating large-capacity magazines to protect the public,” Immergut wrote.

How about the rise in shootings and connection to lack of prison time for criminals with guns? This judge had a pre-determined outcome before hearing the case IMO.

Our only hope is that the democrats have lost their 3/5 majority in the Oregon State Senate. I would write my state senator to oppose any such measures but it is a complete waste of time. She is the mouth piece for Moms Demand Action, SB554, etc.

All this discussion on who's who and who did what and the "Constitution" says this, that.......Just one thing about all that counts; Measure 114 was defeated by VOTERS who VOTED for judges who have been siding with criminals. Until VOTERS get their head out of the dark dank spot you can expect more of the same irrational crap.

My cousin receives a dead relative's ballot every year. State of Oregon has been notified multiple times of her death yet the ballots still show up. I am very skeptical of Oregon's voting system.

I used to live in Arizona. We had to show up in person and show ID to vote. I ask Oregon what's wrong with having to do that?

114 is a feeble law voted on by people that are not good Americans.
Typical liberals- Too lazy to think and come up with a solution so they attack and pick the low hanging fruit and go after honest citizens.
Here's an easy and effective law...
All gun owner must have gun safes. the end.
I have numerous friends with loser kids, that either stole dads guns to buy meth or their kids friends snuck in and stole them. A safe would have stopped those guns from being stolen and getting on the street. 2 of the guys didn't even report them to the police because they had no serial numbers written down.
When a thief enters your home, the priority is Money / jewelry, drugs, guns, electronics. Most burglars don't spend all day searching your house.
Of course I have a gun in the truck, under my night stand, hidden in the living room, and a shotgun over the door in the pantry, plus the ones in the safe. So in a thorough search, a few guns may be found outside the safe. it's the risk I'm willing to face.

It is a law. See SB554 passed last year. Another 2nd amendment infringement our leaders/oppressors care nothing about.

Let me preface by saying that I’m a “Liberal” and I have 22 firearms in my safe including those that have more than ten round capable magazines.

I didn’t plan to chime in here, but statements about how clear 2A is and that the government can’t take rights away, etc are just emotions spewing out. Felons cannot legally possess firearms and I can’t seem to find an addendum to 2A that allows that infringement. Fully automatic weapons cannot be possessed by anyone without a specific permit. Again there is no such prohibition in 2A.

No one is trying to take all of your/our guns away.

what solutions do any of you have to Semtex the mass shootings of children in schools, churchgoers in their temples, shoppers, movie goers, paraders, etc? Let’s hear your solutions. Not the old “enforce the laws we have” or “provide better mental healthcare”. I want to hear some real solutions.

114 is flawed, no doubt and some of it will be repealed.

I see that some of you are okay with the purchase permit. That is an infringement! Most of what I see here are people complaining of the nag capacity.

come on, give me some real solutions that you’re willing to accept and pay for. Quit your whining and bellyaching and promote a real, viable, enforceable solution!

Right here bro. Spend 12 minutes of your life and watch and enlighten yourself.

Of course our teachers and principals and superintendents don't want to hear our solution!
