Agreed. We were Boise area earlier this summer. While it was 3.99 here it was 2.81 there. Our state and local gas taxes (not sure what theirs is) doesn’t make up for the $+1.00 more a gallon here. We’re getting…. [insert expletive].

 

Are you comparing equal gas? Seems like most gas in Idaho is 85 octane compared to 87 in Oregon. Seems like it is about 20 cents different in the octane difference from 87 to 89 so that has to be considered part of the difference.

 

Prices here in southern New Mexico remain volatile, but way more than a dollar cheaper than what you are paying. I don't understand the station owners' motivations -- including Sam's Club. They are usually the cheapest, but bounce 20 to 40 cents a day.

I'm getting tired of it too. Costco Hillsboro price almost matched to Safeway. Since Oregon gets all of it's gas from Washington, my theory is Washington is sticking it to us.

Then I look at Costco Albany & Eugene and they are 50 cents cheaper than us. Newport has cheaper gas than us. Make it make sense.

 

I was out near enterprise this weekend. The gas stations along 84 at Hermiston. 3.59.

Can't say if it’s all along i5 in Oregon, but definitely in Portland metro area we’re getting fleeced.

 

Freddie's in Tillamook is $4.09 regular and $4.79 diesel. Haven't paid this much since the Obama days spike. Coast tourist pricing costs the locals too.

Glad I only drive 12 miles a day during the week and fill up once a month. 💩

Costco here in Yakima is 3.49/gallon. On the reservation it’s 3.30/gal. For regular and 3.90/gal for diesel.

Missed a connecting flight in Denver two weeks ago. Gas was 2.25! In ND it was 2.85. No refineries here, plus they can’t move it by rail anymore either.

 

Someone said gas was $1.99 a gallon. Don't believe the price at the pump that's all fake. Everyone is getting rich. Richer than we could have ever imagined. LOL

 

$3.29 for Diesel here in Podunk. Will check out gas price later when I go to the grocery store. Will try to get a price on E-0 Premium as well, it will make boaters cry. I’ve bought it for as little as $3.49 but that was a while back.

Here in WA, the total gas tax is $1.20/gallon.

Only 18.4 cents/gallon are federal taxes.

The rest are state excise taxes (55.4 cents/gallon) and our lovely new "Carbon Tax" that which is supposed to double by 2030.

 

Yes but in states like Texas with much lower gas taxes the property tax rate is more than double that of Washington so nit picking one tax is pointless as they just tax you somewhere else. A $400,000 home in Texas has twice the property taxes as a $400,000 home in Clark county.

Prices at the racks have remand pretty flat, over the last 3 months. Oil prices have came down a little but its peak driving season so demand is up keeping prices flat. Fuel is about 35 cents more out of the rack in WA than OR before tax. Branded (top tier) gas is anywhere from 10-20 cents more than unbranded discounted gas coming out of grocery stores and off brand stations. After taxes, freight and credit card fees if you are finding branded gas in OR for less than 3.80 you did good.

It definitely pays to get a gas app on your phone and shop around a bit. You can save like .50/gal by just driving down the road a bit. I use Gas Buddy. It shows the high and low price around you and gives directions. When you run thru a lot of gas fishing and towing the boat around, it can add up to some serious savings.

I believe the Oregon constitution requires gas tax go to road improvements / maintenance.

 

There appears to be no control over what a dealer can charge for their product. Would like to see the receipt for the fuel when the tank wagon drops off a load.

 

last 500 gallons of regular we bought on our farm was $2.42 a gallon. That was about a month ago from pratum.
