I have had to face a period of low "T" and it was awful. Hard to focus, no pep, just a real downer. Life was like shaving with a dull razor

At 73 I got Covid. My "T" levels crashed, got it when I was then 73. Then it got worse. My sister was slowly dying of brain cancer. She was my only sibling, 12 years younger and we were terribly close. This dragged on for two years.

"T" injections were suggested by my medical professionals. Once you start them, your nuts stop working. They just hang around doing nothing. They make a lot more than just "T" too.

I did my research, am a "science guy" and came up with my own plan.

One of the hardest things when so tired was doing vigorous muscle building exercises again. That is a must.

Every other day I swam in cold water till shivering. Shivering is a super exercise with all body muscles contracting. Then, I stood out in the cold wind and really let the shivering go.

I stopped eating all forms of sugar. Sugar interferes with "T" production, even grains, they are just low dose sugars.

Lots of organic red meat is suggested. I went with purple meat, bison. I ate fruit and nuts, lots of solid greens and lost critical extra weight. No alcohol either. That is another is another "T" killer.

In less than two weeks I was feeling better. After 6 weeks I had my "T" levels checked, well within the range of normal.

"T" injections are a muti-billion $ a year business.

According to a Mayo clinic article, "normal" testosterone levels for adult males range from 193 to 894. That is a huge range. So a level of 195 may be considered 'normal', it is hardly 'optimal'. And no amount of cold swims, shivering in the wind, and purple meat is going to raise your levels to optimal if you're lower than normal or in the lower range of normal. But you have fun with all that. At 55, me and my nuts perfectly happy with my T injections.

These variances depend a lot on a mans's age. Teen age boys are loaded with "T", older me less so,,,and then less and less so.
I was way under 200, and got it up to around 350. very good for a man then in mid-70's
Regular, exposure to cold jump starts one's immune system.
Doing the simplest bit of research reveals a half dozen physical benefits to cold exposure and almost as many mental ones. Just spraying cold water on one's face releases dopamine immediately.
If one is just plain unhealthy any strain can have adverse reactions.
The chemical processes of "T" production are well studied. They are a composite reaction with many components.

I have a friend who is retired after being a master mechanic. One day I asked him what would happen if one started a car and just let idle, idle and idle. His response was a grim account of progressive motor destruction.

We modern folks live extremely physically idle lives, that stay within a very fixed range of chemical activity. Add in food that is not food and we are nowhere living up to our potential.
