I'd like to bring your attention to some needs for the Kids Activities for the Waterfowl Festival this year. Details in the OWF Thread stickied to the top of the forum.

We are still in need of any old waders, kids sizes or adult, and any old kids camo for the photo booth.

We can also use any old decoys you may have, we are expecting a LOT of kids this year and last year we ran out of decoys to paint. They vcan be gunners and have a few holes, I will be shooting them w/ primer so they need not look very good....just clean if you could.

have deeks, waders, and some camo, but not in kid sizes,, let me know how i can help with any of this stuff,,

Mike,

I've got a dozen or so dekes that I can bring out Friday. That work for you? Although, these are still "decent" in condition and might be better utilized as donation dekes to actually hunt with.

Cool guys! Will work on PM's and contact details.

I have the wife gleening all the local Goodwill's for anything DUCKY, please do the same in your area.

Still in need of some HOLEY boot foot waders. These will be for a ducky version of the ol potato sack race.
This year should prove to be lots of fun for the kids.

Also please grab this OWF Flyer and print some off and toss in your trucks, post'em up ANYWHERE that will allow you. This year we really hope to boost attendance and get some serious $$ raised for conservation. I'm getting really excited and hope we see lots of kids again this year. Last year we painted in excess of 100 decoys and still ran out. My hope is to absolutely WOW these kids with all things DUCKY. I believe Buck Gardner has come through with Wideon Whistles this year for the kids and of course we have some other things as well.

Mike, I have some old waders, and they are probaly repairable. I probaly have some dekes too, but not sure if I can dig that far down yet this time of yr. No relation to Durham DA, are you? Headed to Chapel Hill/Durham tomorrow. Still talking about that Fellar.

Ok all you quackrs....hotbuys are what $20.00 a dozen? I will pitch in a bar tab....so about $40.00 for the cause..any of you quackers feel like pitching in to the cause?????......pm me and we will see who talks the talk or talks a good game. Cash counts....let me know what works for you and I will buy the deeks and we can will settle up. Come on...the kiddys are counting on us!

I also have 15 or 20 deks that I will donate but someone will have to prime them.

I think we have enough....if I can connect up with everyone that is.
This is a suggestion, perhaps we could hold off on the new Hotbuys and keep a deserving youth in mind. Maybe do an essay contest like we did last year? Perhaps we could pull Bill (Mr. Monroe & the Oregonian) in to help w/ the contest???? I think we may also have some waders and camo clothes left over after the Festival to toss in w/ the deeks too.

Is anyone from down your way making a trip up PDX way anytime soon? Perhaps we could get them Fleece and he might be headed up this way??? Eric, are you & Carl working on DSD's anytime this week?

I could just bring the dozen hotbuys to the waterfowl festival.
If you don't need them, at the Delta booth we have a shotgun raffle for people who join Delta Waterfowl. How about a decoy raffle for the kids who join. If your ok with it, I can talk to Dan and Brian???

Concerning an essay contest, Hot buys are pretty affordable.
More so that a fillup in my wife's car(4 cylinder ford escort).
If we hold an essay contest, I could throw in another dozen later.

ogrejager's making a run up to Portland on Monday and will be delivering deeks to Mike. Anyone in the Salem area with deeks to donate shoot me a PM and we'll try to get them in the load.

Many thanks to all the fine IFishers here!!!

I was able to make the rounds and collect up all the old deeks & used gear. We now have close to 200 mixed species for the kids to paint. Some of them are huntable and I may hold them back w/ the waders and camo clothes to team up with some deserving youth.

RedWille, Adobe Wall, Ogerjager, The Duck Master, AtItAgain, Brotherwolf, Swamp Critter, Tar-Heel, Bill Monroe, MarshBum, Headhunter, lor, SIMudbogger.....you guys ROCK! Thanks for coming through.

Instead of the same old mallards, we now have Pintails, Mallards and Wideon to paint this year.
Variety is good and I think the kids will enjoy learning about other ducks and learning to paint them.

My goal this year was to make sure we had a decoy for every kid to paint.
In past years we've ran out and had to say sorry. Not this year.
But wouldn't it be cool if we had so many kids we used every one? That would be WAY cool.

PS: If any of the IFish Mom's would like to help w/ the Kid's Activities...
Just check in with the Info Booth as you come in or stop by the Kids tent and let my wife or I know. I'm really excited for the kids this year.
