Heidi's at 185th and Farmington.
Was owned by Dave Richtenstein - Had a 6ft 2in blonde bartender named Cheryl and a 400 lb Indian named Francis that was the handy man. One of the first "sports bars".
Nope - Never been there.

The Hunt and Fish in Beaverton.
Ahhh! the Hunt & Fight. Want to let out some aggression? This was the place to do it. Lots of pool cues being swung. Nope - Never been there.

The Lariat in Aloha
Another tough place. Its a Plaid Pantry now. I used to have a key to the Lariat so I could deliver beer in the morning before the owner got there. Walked in one morning and there was Pam the night bartender, lets just say "rolling around" on the pool table with some dude that must have closed the place down the night before. Wasn't a pretty sight to see that heavy weight main event going on. Nope - Never been there

The place at 198th and TV Hwy which is now some restaurant.
The Shack - Owned by Al Van Beveren. His kids still have it and run it as a nice restaurant. Back in the day this where all the beer drivers met up to balance our books  before taking our trucks back to the shop for the evening. Nope - Never been there.

Jekyll & Hyde's - Great place to "cut one from the herd" on a Friday evening. Nope - Never been there

I do ! It was a dump of a cocktail bar but was frequented by some of the cities most powerful lawyers and judges. Nope - Never been there

Can't remember the name. It will come to me. Owners name was Gloria and she lived in the attached apartment. You wore your colors in here or you didn't last long. Place was greasy! Nope - Never been there.

Facuet, Golden Garter, Cheerful Tortise,Back Stage all during the 60s.
Faucet - Played City league football for them and the Golden Garter in the late 70's. It was a tough cmpetative game back then where bar owners actually recruited players so they would win city championships and have bragging rights and display trophies on the back bar..

The Faucet was also known for thier turtle races and 5 cent Fallstaff beers.

Green Meadows, yahhhhhhh :passout: ouzo or something like that

The Lariat as long as you could get along with Pam

Then there was always and still is Montys and the Greek Village

I drank a life time of beer in just a few short years.
The frameing days; work hard and then go to the Tavern.

I just went back and read Pearls account of these fine establishments, a great description of them all except the Lariat. There were some talented pool players including Papa Hog. Ken was always in the top few.

Does any one remember the one Canyon across from the old Carr Chevrolet?

Oh man, I must have met troutinator in the past at the Woody, Murphs or the Peacock. send me a PM and we can compare notes. On a side note, When Tom owned the Peacock Tavern in Corvallis, they had the best burger in town. A real drip down your elbows kind.

Back in the day, meaning the 60's. The Steinhaus, Wursthaus, Cheerful Tortoise, Carriage Trade Inn and the Ink Spot. On the north side, The Barn, Twilight Room, Mocks Crest Tavern, Postmouth Club and The Hearth.

As for bars and dance joints, The Longhorn (in Parkrose), Taylors Viewpoint, The Palm Gardens and The Chase.

There were others but you know.. CRS (Cant Remember Stuff).

The Log Cabin in Yamhill.
Log Cabin was in Carlton if memory serves me correct. Burnt down quite a few years ago. Beer cooler where they stored the kegs was in an old bank vault.

Went in to the office to get paid one time after making a delivery and the gal that owned the joint must have had 5 lbs of pot on her desk weighing it into baggies.
Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Lutz's
The Hobbit (before it moved, grew and died)
Tillamook Tavern (it's a Starbucks now)
Semaphore
