You read my mind. My late winter, before springer season project is to organize the stuff. I just may use your idea, thanks!
Now if I can figure out a vertical rod rack.

 

So I have 3 vert rod racks and 1 horizontal
the one thatbgets the most use is a free standing 12 rod rack base is a wood box 24"x24" 48" tall center post and a 20" circle of cheap floor mats from harbor frieght I used an old pairing knife to cut holes in the mats just about a 1/4" in from the edge and then cut out at the thin spot.... last thing i used blue outdoor carpet to cover it.
stands in the corner I rotate the rods I am using at the moment with what I need ready.

What size pvc pipe did you use and what was your spacing of the tubes? I was just getting ready to go buy some pvc pipe to build a wall rack but I like your design much better.

Much too organized. I'd rather look for half an hour (or longer) for something that's right in front of me.

 

Harvey after 1/2 hour of looking its time to head to the store to buy a new one. Then when you get home you'll find the one you were looking for.

 

I’ve had the rod storage issue taken care of for quite awhile. Tackle storage it still an issue. Once the temperature stays above freezing for more than a few hours and I can tolerate being out in the shop, I’ll build up something similar to that. Looks good.

 

All those lefty reels look great!

Garage ceiling. Out of the way

 

I have a similar ceiling rack as well for the rods I use less of the time. Gets them out of the way

then I have ones along the wall for rods I use frequently

looks like my garage isn’t the only one that’s looks like a tackle shop

 

2 3/4" EMT conduits and pipe insulation with garage light chains. Pennies.

 

I like it, above the garage door opener.

 

I started the process by building shelves above the back of the boat and now have similar shelves on the other side. But, I never made it as far as actually organizing🤪 all my gear.

I did my ceiling rack using the same rubber coated hooks as yours and they work just fine. Kirk
