I use their blanks on some of my builds. In fact I just ordered four back bounce blanks today.
My dealings have always been great with the team in Eugene. Rods and blanks are solid and I would use anytime.

This is not about the rod you're looking for, but... about two months ago on the McKenzie I had the opportunity to use a Stryker 5wt fly rod. I enjoyed casting the Stryker more than a rod that cost nearly 4X as much.

 

I think the guy from Fishing the Odds uses Stryker rods I believe. Appears he likes them very much.....

 

For a 360 rod with heavy lead I don’t think the Loomis rods are worth the added expense. I have several Okuma Guide Select Classics that are good rods for the money. I did buy a 9 foot Talon that’s a 9’ 15-40 and I think it’s an improvement over the Okumas but it’s also about $100 more expensive.

I own multiple Stryker rods and have fished them for a few years now and have no complaints.

 

They are very fishy rods the 9'4" 15-30 works really good with 360 and will hold its own against any rod for running kwiks on anchor ive built two and bought one nothing but good things to say

 

If you're looking at blanks, their Surf rod blanks build nice 360 rods. I have never used an assembled Striker rod, but their blanks are great. Plus, what Pearl said, they are having a sale going on now.

 

Doesn't Edge Rods own Stryker now?

 

My understanding is that Edge did purchase Stryker a few months ago. Currently they are operating as a separate business unit.

 

Not a 360 review but I bought a heavy drift rod and a medium heavy spin rod at the Redmond sports show. Caught lots of fish on both this fall. I'd say they are equal or better than my lamiglas infinity and Loomis gl3. Very happy with them.

 

I built two on the CT1045 blank and two on the CT945 about three years ago. I can't complain about a single thing.

 

I like my striker blanks and the action is great for trolling. That being said the ones I own and the ones I have handled are pretty heavy. If I had to cast one all day I’d be looking for something different

Stryker can build way more rods than they sell, Edge cannot.

 

The carbon used by the blanks is the same that was used on the old Berkeley rods, the most used carbon by Daiwa and Shimano, etc. those pretty trim pieces also weigh something. You'll notice very few of their blanks are HM carbon. Some of the patterns are the same as Rogue Rods and built with the same carbons. The boat rods look to be composite material like everyone else has gone to.

 

What not look at Lamiglas, the original 360 rod. XCC 934GH is $$$$

I own several of their CT945-2, 9’4” rods. I’m very happy with them. I also have several of their SW704 saltwater rods, they have been excellent.

 

Okuma X 1092H, one of the best 360 rods on the market. My friends stryker 360 rods are nice too but they're heavy rods if that matters to you at all..

 

I know this is a Stryker Rod thread, but the Okuma X-Troll 1092H rods are nice and should be considered as an 360 option. They are my go-to 360 trolling rods. I love the Okuma warranty on these rods. I accidentally broke off a tip on one of them. User error. Completely my fault. I admitted it when I talked to a Fisherman’s Marine and Outdoors staff. No questions asked. I brought in the broken rod and walked out with a brand new one, free of cost. Now that’s service!

 

There is life beyond 360 rods. Seems like when ever rod manufacture subjects come up everyone gravitates to 360 rods and cheap rods from China which is usually followed up by "they're great rods for the price point". Ten years from now we will have lost a generation of fisherman that cant roll a herring while holding a rod. Good gawd I hate mind numbing trolling with your rod in a holder waiting to see a "chaser" on your finder. Save me!

Here is a little follow up on great customer service. On Sept 18th I ordered four 8' 15-30lb back bouncing blanks for a customer from Stryker in Eugene. They were not in stock but in talking to the Stryker team they assured me they are building blanks weekly and orders from the website are priority. I was a bit skeptical but took a leap of faith and made the purchase. True to their word the blanks showed up on my door step yesterday. 7 days door step to door step -not bad.

 

See my post above. I ordered four back bounce blanks that weren’t in stock. They made them upon order and we’re on my door step with in a week via free shipping.
Let’s hope that Stryker keeps the small company culture they currently enjoy and don’t fall victim to the parent company.

 

I've been a buyer of rods and components when I built my own, I don't remember a time I haven't paid up front 100%. Back ordered components are just a part of the game when rod building, has been for the 45+ years I've been doing it.

Probably a good choice. The 934 still handles 16 as well.
