Brownlee probably is having a spawn right now. I saw some mature eggs in the fish at the cleaning station a few weeks ago.If you believe ODF&W, theres a fall spawn going on right now in the valley areas.
:agree::agree::yeahthat::agree:Females are building eggs for next spring. Those fish in Brownlee, can't be spawning now. I've never heard of any bass spawning in Fall anyplace in the USA. The fish in Florida spawn first, December/January because of the mild climate down there in the winter.
Each system is different but the majority of spawning in the NW takes place in May/June around Full moon.
wow a fall spawn..............................Isnt that kinda against the rules of nature? I would think that all of the fry would die from the winter shortage of food and cold.:agree::agree::yeahthat::agree:
from everything ive read and learned from fishing this is the truth!!!! and i still have never tasted my beloved Bass so i wouldn't know whats in there bellies besides the bait i threw them!!
:agree::agree:, but... This is right off the ODF&W home page report today:wow a fall spawn..............................Isnt that kinda against the rules of nature? I would think that all of the fry would die from the winter shortage of food and cold.
Sorry fellas, Bass spawn in the spring! No winter spawn. Too bad about the cleaning station....next years bass down the drain!
It took me by suprise, too. I'm going to have to slip over ther and see for myself.:dance:But, then again, it is going to rain over here:applause:.I was told by a guy I was fishing by that they were in a second spawning as well. That is why I was asking. I always thought it was spring
