I thought you might find this interesting, although it is a couple of years old. I was in the Gresham City hall sitting in on traffic tickets and listened to an interesting case. Seems a fellow was at Bonniville and hooked an oversized sturgeon in the early evening. The police ticketed him when he ran past the allotted time...hour after sunset...to get the fish in and released. He argued that he had no choice other than cutting off the fish and leaving a long line attached with possible problems for the fish. The judge didn't agree and he had to pay. I had never thought about the problem of running past the fishing time on a big fish.
