We had a few smelt that were thawed from the last time we went sturgeon fishing. I had a jar of BrineNBrite in the fridge and decided to try brining them instead of refreezing or throwing them away. Tried them today and they actually caught some fish!! I brined them for 6-8 hours or whatever it says on the pkg. and then put them in the freezer. It's nice because they don't freeze solid and are ready to use by the time you get to the river.
