I thought I heard that Hancock has discontinued their fee camping but I can't find the info anywhere. Does anyone know if that program was canceled and does that mean those spots are now open to camp in if they don't close the westside to camping?

Yes, they have discontinued their pay camping. They will close access and camping behind gates at state fire level 2 which means unless we get good rain in august there will be no camping.

When ODF goes into Regulated Use Closure (public use restrictions) they will restrict camping. They will not restrict access at this time.

The Hancock sites are no longer listed on HipCamp who held their broker/reservation system. Good to see - I never quirte understood the draw being somewhat familiar with the areas; especially at the prices. But it beats wanton destruction of the resources i suppose.
