Soupfin shark

 

Its a Prionace glauca aka Blue Shark

 

The coloring looks like a Leopard.

Pectoral fins are way too small for a blue shark

This is crappy picture of only the head but I didn't get a good opportunity to take fully body photos. It was probably 5' long and hooked in about 140' of water. If anybody could try to identify this guy I'd appreciate it.

The good news is we limited on lings in the short time we were able to fish before high slack this morning. The bar went to crap real fast when the current kicked up.

That would be an adrenaline rush.

 

Blue shark. The sharp pointed nose gives it away for me.

I think if you look up the soupfin shark you will see that they also have the pointy nose. But unlike the blue shark and like this photo, they have the short pectoral fins mentioned above.
