I know there have been several topics and discussions about GPS numbers but when I put GPS or GPS numbers in the search and the Salty Dogs. I get nothing. I have tried everything I can think and nothing.
I put in GAS CAP as I was looking for a discussion on water leaking through gas caps and nothing.
What am I doing wrong or what gives?
Thanks

I think there are two things going on here. the first one Ill address is the GPS thing. You see the Mods and admon of Ifish are somewhat against posting of the local hotspots with exact GPS co-ord's theres to much liability involved in it, I guess. you wont find too many listings for them, they delete them as soon as they can.

as for the gas cap thing, you may want to try two different things...try synonyms like FUEL. also make sure that the date range and forum selection are set correctly.

There isn't any rule against posting #'s as far as I know. Here are some #'s of the more popular spots taken from a spreadsheet I have.

Always check to make sure they make sense before you use them.

That just brought back some painfull expensive memories. Forget getting a new seal, get your cap swapped out with a real one with seperate vent. I can't stress that enough and I would do that before taking it out 40 plus miles tuna fishing. I got stuck 10 miles offshore in 4 foot of wind chop with salt water in my tank due to that cap, not a fun trip when you have your wife and 12 year old daughter with you. 4 stroke yammies don't like to run on water.

Check out the Shipwreck Expo's GPS coordinate list.

This page is for the New Jersey to New England area but the site also has lists for Florida etc.

You can just click on wreck name for more detailed information on each wrecks history.

Wow Tom, not sure why you're having trouble with the search function. When I put "gps" into the search, for the salty dogs forum and any date, it gives a list of 215 different posts.

With the words gps numbers it yields 252 posts.

With the words gas cap it yields 26 posts

You might want to look real close at the fields of the search function; probably one little error.

Tom~

As for the gas cap...Lose it NOW!!! I can't stress that enough. I can't tell you how STUPID that thing is. NR is learning. I just wish they weren't learning on Tacklebuster, I and many others.

Now the GPS thing. Numbers should pop up big time. Over the years, through pressure I suspect, numbers have been put up left and right. I don't think any of us like to put numbers on the board. It's not a secret thing. If you want numbers PM a couple people and you will get your numbers.

Just a suggestion. You might want to make a new post instead of dredging up something that is over 6 months old. It tends to confuse people.

Thanks for posting the info though. :)
