Sea Lion high in Alsea tidewater

I've been on the river for 51 years this is a first. Have local friends been around over 70 also a first. Mile post 9 on just below Kozy Kove.

Yeah have seen seals chasing winter steelhead up at Five Rivers drifting with my daughter. Hey Dad, what is that dog doing swimming in the river ?

Its too bad they are out of control----you would think humans were smart enough to control predators but I guess not.

Ive seen them below 4th Bridge on the Nestucca. Have also seen them in the town drift on the Siletz in the winter Not unusual.

I've only been fishing the system 15 years, but I've never seen a sea lion in Alsea from Jaws on up. Plenty of seals obviously
