Last year I started trying different things with my fillets, soaking in oil overnight ,borax, adding sulfites, slamola, dyes, pheromones and sugars.I've had some pretty good days and some not so good. Anyone else trying to spice up your your kwikfish wraps and if so how's your success?

We use plain old rock salt and have pretty good success. Be interesting to know if there is something else that will work even better!

Up north (WA) we use 1 C rock salt, 1C powdered milk, and 1 qt water, disolve etc. and put your fillets in... I have heard that adding some blueing also helps....... soak, freeze, and then vacuum pack. I have done this w/ herring,,,might work w/ other bait fish.. You can also add scents to the soak or spray on before freezing.

I've had good luck with slamola. I'm fairly lazy about it, some days I do, some days I don't.

If you do make sure you wash your plugs afterwards, it'll eat the paint off.
