The Sandy is a glacial river. Hot weather melts the glacier and deposits till in the river. The "Mud" is glacial sediment. The Hood River and White River are like this as well.
Interestingly the White Salmon vomited a ton of glacial mess this weekend. It rarely blows out from glacial melt, unlike the Klick which is blown out most of the summer.
It wasn't hot and barely rained, so I'm pretty curious what happened.
I saw some silvers finning up in the shallows at the mouth this morning. Sorry, no water clarity report but it wasn’t throwing out a sandy green plume so I’d guess it’s fishable, and there’s fish
Was there yesterday for a few hours thinking Tuesday's rain bumped the river level and got the fish moving.
It did not.
Low and slow.
