(Last year's lecture series was great; very informative. A rare opportunity to both hear the latest in salmon science as well as pose your own questions to the experts. Here's the class schedule - don't be late!)

All are welcome and invited to attend the "School of Salmon", a lecture series featuring prominent salmon researchers presented by the Portland State University Biology Department and Native Fish Society. The first term of the School of Salmon begins in October. Subsequent offerings throughout the year will be announced soon. All lectures are free, but donations to help defray expenses will be appreciated.

The School of Salmon will be held at Hoffman Hall (room 109) on the PSU campus on first Wednesday of each month from October through December. All presentations start at 7 pm.

October 1
Gordon Reeves, U.S. Forest Service,
"The Future of Salmon and Trout in the Coast Range"

November 5
Dan Bottom, NOAA Fisheries,
" Estuaries as Habitat in the Life-cycle of Anadromous Fish"

December 3
Bill Ardren, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,
"The Interaction of Wild and Hatchery Steelhead on the Hood River"

Gary, this sounds like a great opportunity. Naturally, I have a standing commitment on wednesday nights. If they mention any web abstracts or summary links, or if you think there are any particularly salient points, would you mind posting here after the lectures?
Thanks, Darian
