5 or 6 years ago, I guy gave me what was supposed to be a Lami blank. He was doing rods to take kids fishing and He said the rods were donated by Lami. At the time, I thought it would be cool to build my own rod. Needless to say, it has sat in the corner of my garage since then. I am trying to figure out what kind of rod to build. There was an ID tag on the blank: BMB842F. I don't know if this is an ID# or a batch#. The blank is 7' long, black in color, one piece, and appears to be a magnum taper with a slow action(stiff tip). Anybody got any ideas?

A 1997 catalog I ran across describes that BMB842F blank as a Lamiglas smooth black fiberglass for mooching and live bait. As you said, it is one-piece and 7' long. It has a #6 tip size, a .790 butt size, 4 ounces in weight, and recommends a lure weight of 3/4 - 2 1/4 ounces. A "first" had a price of $43.00 back then. I hope this helps.
