Looking to upgrade fish finder on my new to me boat.Want to stay in 5-600 dollar range.Anyone out there have thoughts on Raymarine dragonfly 7? Seems like a lot of features for the money and easy to operate.I Kokanee fish a lot plus salmon on the Columbia and Willamette. Thanks

I only Kokanee fish, but I love mine! Great detail and I love the WiFi. I have an iPad mounted on my gunnel towards the back of the boat. My kids get to watch for fish and don’t have to be all in my space while I’m driving. I would recommend the dragonfly. Works well while crabbing too.

Similar to Allicat. Mostly Kokanee fishing, and it works great. I too use the wireless set up. I run a tablet next to it at the helm. Dragonfly on chart, and the tablet running the fish finder. I've also starting running another tablet at the back of the boat.

I had one on my old boat for a couple of years and loved it enough, that when I bought a new boat this spring, installed another on it.

I haven't heard anyone complain about their Dragonfly.

For another option, I just ordered a Garmin echoMAP CHIRP 94sv from the GPS store for $580. Seems like a great deal for a 9" screen and live mapping. Something to look at.

Your going to love that one Swifty! I've had mine for a couple years and just love it. Couple quick passes where ever you are and poof, you've got excellent maps. I just hit record every time I leave the ramp.

Put the Dragonfly 7 pro on the bay boat, but haven't used it yet. Glad to see everyone still likes them.

I just bought one on Amazon, $392.

I replaced a 5" Lowrance with a digital yacht wifi interface (separate gear).

Now the wifi is on the finder, the sonar is great and I can continue to use my iPad for chart and the Dragonfly for Sonar. I have another old iPad I am mounting in the rear so that the crew and watch sonar.

I have used it for Walleye, in an area I have fished a ton with my lowrance. No comparison on sonar. Raymarine is excellent.

I have one in the back by the kicker that I use for trolling. Solid device. I downloaded the maps for free and loaded them on a chip. Saved me a few bucks versus buying the version with the map chip

Only issue I every had was snapping off the transducer when I ran into a lumber sale in the dark on the Willy one spring morning. Of course that had nothing to do with the device.

Check with your dealer because you may be able to get this unit with a Navionics card included. There are several bundle deals going on. See below.

When you buy a GPS plotter that includes a Navionics+ card inside the box, you save versus purchasing separately and have cartography that’s ready to use.

Get the tremendous value of Navionics+ for a very low price! Ask your dealer which bundles they offer, or order any of the following models:

HUMMINBIRD: Helix 5, 7

LOWRANCE: Elite Ti 7, 9; Hook² 5, 7, 9,12

RAYMARINE: Axiom PRO 9, 12, 16; Dragonfly 4PRO, 5PRO, 5M, 7PRO

SIMRAD: GO5 XSE, 9 XSE

SI-TEX: SVS560, 760, 880, 1010

Watch west marine online and other web based retailers for blow out sales. There's about a 50 percent retail markup on all of these. I have the Raymarine Axiom 7" series the transducer & navionics chip for 650-750 dollars. This is 100 times better than the dragon fly series which will run that much, once you find out you have to buy missing accessories that come standard with the Axiom.

I've also seen the Garmin 741x series on clearance for 450.00. I then spent another 125 for the chirp transducer.

Both of these are on my boat, I paid the price mentioned because I was patient. I can tell you there both fantastic units.
