Hey Everyone! It's been great being back on here!

Going through all of the archives I'm finding that there is very little reason given behind everyone's technique with Prawn Spinners.

If you've had success with a Prawn Spinner, what makes you want the Prawn to roll while trolling or not to roll and be dead straight..AND what is your theory behind it?

Let's settle this for once!

i was wondering what color spinner blade seems to work best for springers. i was also wondering what type of roll/spin you want on them also how you like to rig them up. i plan on fishing the big C anywhere from I-5 bridge all the way down to Prescott. thanks for your help!

Don’t catch a ton like others do on this board, but fish’em straight on a skewer with no roll. Also don’t fish prawns a ton either, so yeah. Buddy rolls them and catches 1:1.

I rig em like your 3rd pic with 360 flasher, except I use stinger hook that sits loose by the shrimps head, do it right and you get a very slow roll "fish on"

If I do mine right they don't spin, bit I don't think it matters much except for line twist.

While presentation always plays a role. In my opinion I think your cure and scent plays a bigger role.

Fisherman's Marine website and put "Eric's Prawn Spinner" in search box. Indiana style blade, been around long time. Original color was red-orange top, glow bottom (diagonally)

Has anyone done the straw technique that Duane Englands' dad created? I really want to build that. It seems to solve a lot the oddities in setting up the prawn.

Ha you remember. That blade in front of a shrimp is money. Found out last year when the water is a little colored it's deadly in front of your herring too.

No toothpick or wire. Just a hook and a couple half hitches around the tail.

Springers or coho : roll
Sockeye: no roll

If trolling in current I like to use a dental band around the cape to to hold it together longer. In drano no need for the band.

I've had a few good days myself in those same waters, including this triple . Wont be long now hurry up spring.
