I was in the store yesterday and saw Berkely Powerbait egg clusters for steelhead and was wondering if anyone has tried them and had any success with them? Also I was wondering if anyone has had success with using the small cooked shrimp you can get at the grocery store?

I've heard you can tip a jig with those lil shrimp, never tried it but it couldn't hurt. The powerbait...good luck but you never know.

I tried them sidedrifting last year along with Gooie bobs and they worked well.
I did cut them down a bit though.

I picked a pack up a little while back. They look nice, but sink like a rock. I haven't found a good setup that doesn't frequently snag the bottom - I like the idea of tipping a jig with one though!

if your refiring to salad shrimp i heard they use them in prinneville reservior for trout and just kill em ive been told that they have a natral shrimp run of some kind in the lake

If they're what I'm thinking they are (about the size of a quarter and sort of UFO shaped) I didn't care for them. There was no good way to rig them up that I could come up with. They're also a bit too tough for my liking.

I do like their single eggs though.
