Painted or Galvanized Trailer Hubs?

The hubs on the trailer on my new to me sled are really rusty and need a bearing repack. I figured I'd just replace the hubs with prepacked ones to get rid of the rust and to save some time. The axle manufacturer has prepacked painted steel hubs for around $30 apiece or galvanized for around $85. The boat will only see brackish or salt water infrequently but will likely be exposed to road deicing spray. Is it worth the extra money for the galvanized when I could replace the painted steel hubs nearly 3 times over for the same price?

Thanks for the advice!

If your trailer has brakes, the painted hubs will rust in no time. If you have a common bolt pattern, there should be a ton of options for galvanized. They shouldn't be that far apart in price.

I wouldn't want mine prepacked. I'm picky about the grease I use. It doesn't take long to do, even for a tandem axle with brakes.
